The Wheels are turning
on "The Hill"
Looking for a great day out?
Today Westgate Hill, known as 'The Hill' & is home to a thriving business
community and is
a Mecca for Motorcycle enthusiasts
from all over the world.
A place not to be missed, this bustling friendly street is a haven for
bikers, young and old. Whether you're looking for a bike, leathers or
a just a cuppa & bacon sarnie, we believe
that Westgate Hill is one of the most interesting and exciting places
to visit not only in the City, but also in the North East.
Westgate Hill will meet most of your needs, you can get anything from
a new or used bike, M.O.T, servicing, or spares, and most shops are open
six days a week
(check individual shops for opening times).
The Westgate Hill area has a long and colourful history, taking its name
from its proximity
to the West Gate of the old city, Westgate Road follows the line of Hadrian's
Wall and during the Industrial Revolution became the place to live for
Newcastle's rich merchants
and gentry.
If you would like to top up on a different type of culture, within a short
walk or bike ride away there are museums, galleries and various places
of historical interest.
We are all very sure that if you come for a day out, you won't be disappointed
with what
you find.
With so much going on, it's hard to decide what to do first.
Please use the website
to find information about other services related to biking in and around
the North East.
